Key functions:
- Cost control and analysis;
- Monthly management reporting;
- CAPEX management;
- Business planning and forecasting;
- Cost reduction and business process optimization.
Key tasks to begin with:
- Monthly controlling closure in SAP
- Improvement of analytical cost planning and accounting (improvement of cost classification and transparency, posting quality, reduction of accounting mistakes, etc…);
- Increase frequency of cost analysis from monthly basis to weekly basis, including development of analytical tools in SAP and other systems;
- Organize work and tasks of medium/junior staff, develop staff skills and competencies;
- Finalize implementation of IBM analytics tools (for business planning and Capex management);
- Management reporting continuous development (optimization of tools and use of different systems (SAP, IBM, other), reduce time of management reporting closure, improve quality of analysis);
- Providing management with reliable information for efficient decision making;
- Cost optimization and efficiency increase proposals;
- Annual business plan (strategic and operational/yearly) preparation.
Required knowledge:
- Methods of financial/economic analysis of physicals and financials;
- Business planning and forecasting;
- Investment analysis;
- Accounting methods under IFRS and local GAAP;
- Business process understanding and project management.
Desirable knowledge:
- SAP or comparable ERP system;
- Technology of open pit/underground mining and gold processing.
- Education: higher education in the field of economics/finance, as an advantage – first education in the field of technical sciences, preferably mining and metallurgy.
- Work experience: at least 5 years, in mining companies, including leadership in team management, budgeting, reporting, and cost analysis.
